THE GARDEN OF SHADED BEDROOMS

Emerging from the bottom of the ravine via the path alongside the stream and going up a staircase, we arrive at the three flower beds at the edge of the woods. These were the first of the various plantations now included in the Jardin du Sous-Bois, developed in what remained of a virtual mature spruce that was destroyed by the spruce budworm in the 1970s and 1980s.
