THE GOOSE  ALLÉE

(1980)

The first of the new gardens, the Allée des Oies, consists of an east-west path running between two similar high hedges.

The flowers of the Allée des Oies plants, mainly with a fastigiate shape (or spirelike), accentuate the tunnel effect of the garden, particularly in July and August.

Throughout July, flowering intensifies with an imposing range of peonies, poppies, radials (Astrantia), early asters and centauries.

At the end of July there is an abundance of Delphinium Pacific Hybrid which sometimes reach almost three meters and which are grouped in different beds according to their colour. A high purple rose, Lavatera cachemiriana, goes well with Delphinium blue.
