THE WATER COURSE
(1981)
Proceeding further along the cedar tunnel we arrive at the Water Course, a series of rectangular pools, channels and small waterfalls which gradually descend on a gentle slope towards the lake. The ponds are home to water lilies. Decorative rhubarb (Rheum palmatum and its cultivar 'Atrosanguineum') borders the two ends of the watercourse fed at its source by a dolphin, to later flow into the lake. A turtle on the opposite side of the lake and at the end of the vista returns a symbolic stream of water towards the dolphin.
